CQG API is created to make CQG data and functionality available to customer applications.

The CQG API is an automation server component that is very convenient to use from any application written on VB, C#, C++ or any other language, which supports automation technologies. With the advent of the CQG API product, customers are able to create their own customized systems using data that is available via CQG.

CQG API can be used to retrieve real-time market data on instruments (i.e., their quotes, dynamic properties), account and position data, and perform order management.

CQG API 4.0 introduces the functionality of historical data retrieval. You can retrieve timed bars, ticks, constant volume bars, TFlow bars, point and figure bars, user formulas (custom studies, conditions, QFormulas, and trading systems), data sources and data source symbols, tradable commodities, and custom sessions.

CQG API has an intuitive programming interface. Users who had worked with Excel and are familiar with Excel Object Model will quickly get used to this component.

CQG API is supplied as a part of the CQGIC package. In order for CQG API to work, CQGIC should be started on the computer.
